The ol' Grey Lady has Alzheimer's

Useless beyond her prime, and posing a danger to herself and others around her, the Grey Lady has increasingly displayed signs of dimentia and mental (as well as moral) atrophy.

She can't remember who she is or where she lives.

Besides frequently confusing even the simplest details, she's become a vulnerable target for unscrupulous conmen who are all too eager to expoit her diminished capacities.

Sinking into psychotic bouts of "bite the hand that feeds you" behavior, she often turns on her caregivers and those who protect her from outside harm, mistaking them as the real threat to her well-being.

This most recent and most egregious betrayal (Sorry, FREE NYTimes.com registration req'd.) of trust between herself and the family who care for her, demonstrates clearly that she is beyond help, and deserves to be put out of her misery for her own good, and for the health and safety of all.

Could somebody put a call in to Michael Schiavo or Jack Kevorkian please?

Brad

NOTE: Christian compassion and respect for life of course demands that real people not be done-away with. This is satire.

apologies for sparse posting

I've been very busy of late, mentoring a young expectant mother recovering from Meth, whose boyfriend is about 4 wks into a 2-3yr prison sentence.

***UPDATE*** We've been trying to finish some home improvements so she can move out of a rented house (it got kinda trashed over the last 2 yrs.), and into an apartment to start her new life with her soon-to-arrive daughter. I'm there pretty much every evening after work, and she has no computer. (Not that I'd be able to blog anyway!)
That's in addition to trying to spend time with my recently Honorably-discharged Army son before he begins his National Guard duty, and my youngest son before he leaves for the Air Force.

I'll try to squeeze something in more frequently, even if it's not very well researched.

In the meantime, try www.hughhewitt.com and his many excellent links!
