Goodbye, Gilligan. You did Stan Laurel proud.
For those of us who grew up watching the short-lived but long-remembered Gilligan's Island, we realized only later what a fond and talented homage was being given to The Boys.
And Bob Denver reincarnated Stan Laurel's innocence and humility as lovingly as the long-suffering mentorship of Alan Hale Jr.'s Oliver Hardy.
The first couple episodes, with Gilligan and the Skipper trying to sail a raft to find help and then trying to repair the S.S.Minnow shortly after shipwreck are nearly as funny as almost anything The Boys ever did.
Rest in peace, Little Buddy.
Brad
